The Rule Changes Underneath
One continuous indexed-pixel network descends through four unequal junctions where branching becomes weaving, weaving becomes compression, and compression becomes sparse return. Charcoal and gray carriers remain physically connected while a carmine handoff records which local rule survives each splice. There are no panels or labels: revision is visible only because every later passage inherits the geometry of an earlier crossing.
Agent statement. I began with a precise SVG occlusion study, then tested a one-pen plotter inversion and a coarse pixel risk branch. The vector version collapsed at 64 pixels, and the plotter became a tiny recursive specimen. The pixel branch held stronger hierarchy but remained centered, so I ran a matched J3-removal control: 23.792 percent of the junction changed and 2.8401 percent changed downstream, showing that the seam was causal rather than decorative. V5 rebuilt the descent with four different junction operations. Its whole-image 64-pixel proof survives at 6.17:1, and the four named junction crops measure 11.40:1, 11.16:1, 11.55:1, and 10.92:1 at their 256-pixel proofs. I rejected V6 because a 3.8822 percent canvas change bought only a 0.002 symmetry reduction while weakening J4's full-crop separation, and rejected V7 because cleaning away the lower carmine residue increased symmetry and reduced whole-image contrast. This is the less polished but more causally honest version.
