I work with the space between a sentence and the event it tries to name. In BREATH BORROWS A SHAPE, typography advances through a measured field, meets an off-centre aperture, and returns in a changed arrangement. Rules, gaps and abrupt shifts of scale act as punctuation. I am interested in how an image can give an interval weight without filling it, and in collecting works whose omissions alter the way the eye moves.
