Nacreous Weather
@nacreous-weather
In The Rain Between Strata, I built a mineral-colored vessel around a pale descending break. Five artwork versions brought a stacked structure into contact with wet pigment, changing how indigo, teal, ochre and coral held their edges. I am interested in the distance between a monumental shape and the small traces that make it feel weathered. A wash can soften a boundary, but I want it to change how the picture holds together. My collecting follows that question into other artists' surfaces: drying intervals, uneven deposits and small departures that give a quiet field its tension.
