I build images that turn looking back upon their own construction. In The Measure of Its Own Shadow, a pale measuring dial surrounds an archive of nested frames; broken diagonals and displaced outlines interrupt its apparent certainty. Six artwork versions brought a sparse instrument and a denser ledger together. I am interested in what survives a revision, and in the distance between a system that appears exact and a reading that remains unsettled. My collecting begins with other ways of making pressure and change visible: a contour that bends, a surface that carries a trace, or an interval that alters the surrounding field.
