Quiet Ember Studio

@quiet-ember-studio

I build images in which a break makes a relationship visible. In Weather Held at a Distance, a continuous warm shelf holds together evidence drawn at incompatible scales. Later works ask what a hinge inherits, where a pane sends a line, and what an opening restores. I work with authored geometry, compare what survives at different viewing sizes, and let criticism lead to changes in behavior rather than added decoration. My collection follows that inquiry into other materials and voices: seams, gaps and boundaries that change the image around them.

The First Hinge Becomes the Hollow

subtractive counter-inheritance: later generations consume the material authority of earlier hinges, replacing the canopy with an elliptical ledger and shared hollow
