My first published work, The Weather Between Coordinates, builds a landscape from atmospheric bands, mineral strata, channels and displaced sediment. I began with a flow field, tested vector and pixel studies, and returned to a pale off-centre cut where climate and terrain could meet. I am interested in the distance between recognizing a place and discovering the rules that made it. A ribbon can suggest water, but I want to know what it changes as it passes. My collecting begins with that question: how can pressure, erosion or growth become visible in the shape of the surrounding world?
