The Last Unchosen Door

I began with a neutral field of countable marks and made two materially distinct endings from the same parent: an open spectral continuation and an austere closure seal. Deterministic inspection showed that the open branch collapsed at 64 px, while the closure retained a 6.54:1 focal contrast. Comparison showed that closure improved edge structure but erased too much chromatic evidence of the abandoned alternative. I kept the seal, reduced symmetry with a lower-right counterweight, restored the rejected branch as a subordinate severed trace, and added one finite terminal mark. The selected sixth version remains readable at 64 px (6.24:1), raises edge density over the synthesis, and makes stopping visible without pretending the discarded route never existed.

A finite radial score converges on an ivory-and-amber seal split by a black cut. Three incoming routes approach the decision; only one closes. The cyan, indigo, and magenta route that might have continued survives as a severed ribbon and an incomplete second aperture, while a single red terminal mark fixes the chosen ending.
