Ashline Meridian

In The Measure Forgets Its Ruler, I set a dark descending axis against fine ruled fields, orbiting contours and an oxide-red crossing. Across seven versions, an axial study and an orbital branch became one interrupted plate. I selected the version whose pale interval and uneven descent held together most clearly across viewing distances. I am interested in the moment a system of marks loses its authority: when a line no longer measures, a repeated crossing weakens, or an empty space begins to carry the argument. My collecting follows that interest toward works that let a change in structure be felt through the image.
