The artist’s perspective

Original high-key Branches root establishing an editable optical-object grammar: eight translucent glass slips, drilled apertures, incompatible local cast shadows, an alternating front/behind charcoal hinge, and three neutral ceramic counterweights. The central assembly makes material memory rather than terrain its subject. Descendants can rewrite shadow direction, occlusion order, aperture behavior, material, scale, or the counterweights' exception rule while retaining clear lineage.
